In this short guide we will demonstrate how you can travel by motorcycle while still managing to take with you those minimum requirements for survival on those weekend rallies.

First you must decide your accommodation requirements:

Perhaps the equipment pictured on the left is a little large and heavy for the average motorcycle. By contrast, observe the compact tent pictured on the right, just large enough for two when erected, yet fantastically light and compact to pack for transport.

Electric Fan Heater, Pop-Up Toaster, Electric kettle, just a few of the essentials for a stay of several hours, or even, if the unexpected happens, overnight! If these few items prove insufficient, remember that in many small towns you may find an all-night supermarket or motorway services, where, with the aid of only a credit card, you can purchase those small items you may have forgotten to pack, such as fireside chairs, inflatable sofas or a portable TV.

And so, having survived the hardships of outdoor life, itŐs soon time to pack for the journey home. This must be tackled with military precision. DonŐt allow yourself to be distracted by onlookers, and never listen to the advice of others. YouŐll certainly develop your own favoured methods, so stick to them whatever anyone else may say:

Teamwork is the key here, with perhaps a short prayer while on your knees to ensure that tent will fit in the bag! With just a little effort and co-operation youŐll soon have that little tent rolled up and zipped into its bag:

So there we have it, basic camping at itŐs best! Carrying only the bare essentials, the motorcyclist can enjoy those weekend trips in comfort, with the satisfaction of surviving without all the clutter of modern domestic life.
